PARFUM

Parfum is the strongest of perfumes. It contains about 20-30% essential oils in the fragrance blend. It is said to last within 12- 24hours+ as it contains less alcohol than other perfume types. Parfum is the most expensive of the perfume categories. It is also recommended for people with sensitive skin, as there is less alcohol in the blend.

EAU DE PARFUM (EDP)

Eau de Parfum has the next highest level of concentration. It contains about 15-20% essential oils in the fragrance blend. This means it’s still quite potent and can last between 8-12 hours+. It is also less expensive than “Parfum”. It has slightly more alcohol and water in the ingredients, however, it is still suitable for sensitive skin than other fragrance types. Eau De Parfum is also one of the most common perfume types.

EAU DE TOILETTE (EDT)

Eau de Toilette contains about 5-15% essential oils in the fragrance blend. It is cheaper than Eau de Parfum and is one of the most popular types of fragrance available. It is made up of alcohols and other chemicals. You can expect EDT to last about 2-3hours+. The term Eau de Toilette came from the French term “Faire sa Toilette” which means getting ready.

EAU DE COLOGNE

Eau de Cologne , or simply cologne has a much lower concentration. It contains about 2-4% essential oils in the fragrance blend. It has a high concentration of alcohol and it is cheaper than other types of fragrance, however, the scent generally only lasts for up to 2 hours. Eau de Cologne was initially created for men by an Italian barber in Köln, Germany, which explains the term “cologne,” the French name for the city.

EAU FRAICHE

Eau Fraiche is similar to Eau de Cologne in that the scent will generally last for up to 2 hours. It has an even lower concentration than Eau de Cologne of about 1 to 3% essential oils in the fragrance blend. Eau Fraiche is light and airy, suitable for those looking for a very subtle scent as the main ingredient is water (Eau Fraiche means fresh water)

PERFUME OIL

Perfume oils are perfumes that have a pure oil base, and no alcohol or water are used in these blends. Most perfume oils will have concentrations of fragrance essential oils of up to 20%, and then a carrier oil will make up the remainder of the blend. These concentrated oils are rubbed into the skin, offering long-lasting exuberance of roughly 8-12 hours+. Perfume oils are activated by the heat of your skin and are to be applied to your pulse points to smell excellent for longer period.
